At Golden Ratio we understand that with life comes some trauma, but we believe that these traumas (whether physical, emotional, or chemical) can create opportunities for growth. By consciously remaining present with our experiences rather than disconnecting as a form of self-protection, we can process and evolve from these stressors, integrating them into the fabric of our lives like beautiful puzzle pieces.
When we are unable to process life's experiences, they become stored within our bodies until we address them. Left unattended, these accumulated experiences can lead to physical breakdown and burnout. Alternatively, by creating a physical and emotional space where we can unpack, process, and integrate these experiences, we can emerge as the strongest and most authentic versions of ourselves.
At Golden Ratio Chiropractic, our commitment is to provide a healing environment conducive to integration and growth. We strive to support individuals on their journey towards wholeness, facilitating the process of unpacking and integrating life's experiences so that they may live authentically and thrive.
BJ Palmer
This is a stress placed on the physical body that creates a breakdown of the physical tissues requiring growth and repair.
When the body is given adequate time and resources growth occurs and we become stronger and more resilient. However, if we do not have the time or resources to adapt and overcome these stresses they get stored in our tissues and can later present as chronic illness, pain, or anxiety.
These stresses can be both "good" and "bad" some examples include:
-exercise
-child birth
-stubbing your toe
-a motor vehicle accident
-surgery
-abuse
This is any stress that comes into our lives that we feel overwhelmed by or unable to process in the moment. This creates a physical reaction whether it be muscle guarding, or prolonged and continuous stress hormones circulating in the blood.
If left unintegrated, this emotional response gets stored in our tissues and can later present as chronic illness, pain, or anxiety.
These stresses can be both "good" and "bad" some examples include:
-your wedding
-the death of a loved one
-your graduation
-the ending of a relationship
-buying a house
-abuse
These are stressors that we come into direct contact with in our environment. They can range from mild to severe but they all trigger a cascade of chemical reactions within the body designed to neutralize the toxins and bring the body back into homeostasis.
If these stresses are not addressed, or if the source of the toxic stress is not identified and allowed to continue, the body will continue to produce a defensive response. This chronic state of overdrive creates an overactive nervous system and gets stored in our tissues which can later present as chronic illness, pain, or anxiety.
These stresses can be both "good" and "bad" some examples include:
-pesticides
-pollution
-health food
-junk food
-alcohol
-drugs (prescription and other)
